Marty Vanags
Chief Executive Officer

Marty is the chief executive officer of the EDC. Marty entered his role at the EDC in May of 2004 with over 15 years of experience in community and economic development, private commercial development and business management. He graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a bachelor's degree in political science, and he earned a master's degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.

Ken Springer

Ken is the EDC's project and data analyst. He joined the EDC in August of 2005, and his main role is the management of the EDC's financial programs. Ken also leads the organization's research activities and oversees all enterprise zone issues. He earned a bachelor's degree in international relations at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, and a master's degree in applied community and economic development from Illinois State University, Normal.
Cathy Milligan
Program & Finance Manager

Cathy is the EDC's Program and Finance Manager. She joined the EDC in July 2008. Cathy manages the EDC's government advocacy program and is responsible for the EDC's communications functions. She also manages the financial records and serves as the EDC's primary event planner. Cathy graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a bachelor's degree in history and a minor in political science. She also earned a master's degree in history from ISU.
Amy Denham
Administrative Assistant

Amy is the EDC’s administrative assistant. She joined the EDC in May 2011. Amy handles all board and investor communications and assists in the coordination of office services, research, analysis and communication. She also assists in the coordination of EDC projects and events. Amy graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
