Ham to Leave BNEDC

(Normal, IL)—Kyle Ham, chief executive officer of the Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council (BNEDC), will leave the EDC on April 30 to become a vice president at Core Construction, a Morton, Illinois-based company.

EDC Board Chair Jared Hall said a process to find the next EDC leader will begin immediately.

“I know I speak for the entire EDC when I congratulate Kyle on his new position, and at the same time, I know we now have big shoes to fill,” Hall said.  “During his more than three years at the EDC, Kyle and his team achieved numerous successes for the community, and we are grateful for his exemplary service.”

Highlights of Ham’s tenure include landing the Rivian Automotive and Brandt Industries manufacturing projects, establishing the Small Business Development Center at Illinois Wesleyan University, developing a community STEM initiative and partnering with BN Advantage.

“Working to put a spotlight on this amazing community always brought me a great deal of joy and satisfaction,” said Ham, who will remain with his family in Bloomington-Normal while serving as Core Construction’s vice president for Client Services.  “I was very fortunate to be surrounded by a great group of professionals at the EDC and supported by committed business, government, and community leaders. My family and I look forward to many years in the community, and I will remain a passionate advocate for economic development in McLean County.”

Prior to serving at the EDC, Ham worked as chief of staff for the Illinois State Treasurer's Office in Springfield. He also previously served as president of PeoriaNEXT, a technology commercialization company, and as vice president of Heartland Partnership.
