A strategy to sustain the region’s vitality and foster growth by building on McLean County’s reputation as an employment and lifestyle destination

We need to be better positioned to consistently and successfully deliver the social and economic environment needed to compete in the global economy.

Six county-wide organizations have partnered to create this strategy: Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council, McLean County Regional Planning Commission, McLean County Chamber of Commerce, Bloomington-Normal Convention and Visitors Bureau, Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority, and Connect Transit. Volunteers representing 35 public organizations, businesses, and institutions collaborate on multiple tasks forces. How are we doing this?

 

TALENT AND WORKFORCE

Educators, trainers and employers collaborate on talent and workforce development programs.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Conventional and non-conventional lenders, business advisors, and successful small business owners create financing opportunities and advisory and mentorship programs to give start-ups the assistance and encouragement they need to succeed.

QUALITY OF LIFE

The implementation of inspirational ideas creates an innovative community attractive to a talented and diverse workforce.

BRAND

The creation of a distinctive new community brand that includes an innovative social/digital communication and marketing platform.

MEASUREMENT

Metrics, chosen based on the goals of the Life Multiplied plan, comprise a dashboard of indicators to track the plan’s progress.
